Legend of Igbo Heritage International Awards, powered by Face of Igbo Heritage Legend International Foundation, is a remarkable event that celebrates Igbo culture and heritage. This year’s summit/ Awards scheduled for October has been flagged off with the inauguration of the Organizing Committee by HRH Igwe Dr. Emma O. Ugwu, EzeOkwe 1 of Okwe Kingdom, Enugu East Local Government Area, Enugu State.
The inauguration, which took place on Thursday, 14th September 2023, was a memorable occasion that paid homage to age-old Igbo traditions. As the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) for the Face of Igbo Heritage Legend International Foundation, Igwe Dr. Emma Ugwu emphasized the Foundation’s pivotal role in realizing the essence of Igbo cultural heritage.
During the inauguration ceremony, Igwe Dr. Emma Ugwu charged the Committee members with the responsibility of ensuring the success of the upcoming Legend of Igbo Heritage International Summit/Awards 2023. He called on them to be proactive in their approach and to work diligently towards achieving their goals.
Furthermore, Igwe Dr. Emma Ugwu reiterated that membership in the Face of Igbo Heritage Legend International Foundation is open to all Igbo individuals, irrespective of their affiliations, whether political, business, or social class. He encouraged every Igbo son and daughter who shares a passion for preserving and promoting Igbo traditional legacy to actively participate in the Foundation’s initiatives, especially as they serve as inspirations to the younger generation.
In his address, Igwe Dr. Emma Ugwu emphasized the importance of unity and patience within the Committee, stating, “I urge you to be proactive in pursuit of this course, persevere in the midst of challenges, and, more importantly, ensure that you use one mind and be prayerful as you go about the assignment. With these, breakthrough is apparently closer.” He also suggested leveraging modern media technologies like U-tube and other social media platforms to advance their objectives.
The Founder and President of the Foundation, Mr. Nkwaetu Uzochukwu, introduced the Committee members to HRH Igwe Dr. Emma Ugwu during an earlier visit. Mr. Uzochukwu highlighted the progress made by the Committee in achieving their set objectives. Notably, many prominent Igbo sons and daughters have expressed interest in participating in the forthcoming Summit and Awards presentation scheduled for 27th October 2023 in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
Mr. Nkwaetu reaffirmed the Committee’s readiness and commitment to delivering on their mandate. The Committee members, including Mr. Amaefula Wilson as the Chairman, Mr. Ibeh Alexander as the Secretary, and others such as Mr. Uzoma Kelechi, Miss Ojukwu Nkechi, and Mr. Ikemuefule Chidiebere, were officially inaugurated during the ceremony. The President and Founder of the Foundation, Mr. Nkwaetu Uzochukwu, graced the occasion, demonstrating the unity and dedication of all involved in promoting Igbo culture and heritage.
